We will have a final examination in this course, but stress not: it is worth only 20% – the same as any of the four homework assignments.
Our final exam will be held over two consecutive days and will require both individual calculations and group cooperation.
Working in small teams (day 1) and then together (day 2), you will construct pieces of the beta function of quantum chromodynamics and then put it all together to find the famous result.
By the time you hand in your exam paper, you will have reached the final goal of the course: understanding why QCD is asymptotically free.
